The beautiful Lakeland village of Sawrey which is a stones throw from our home in the Hawkshead Village played host to its annual marrow contest recently on Sat 19th September. There was a great turn out with proceeds going to the Hawkshead Village School Garden Fund. Our very own Doreen Gregg (Assistant Store Manager-Hawkshead Village Store) was showing off her green fingered skills again with a very impressive effort weighing in at 54lb. This years winning marrow weighed in at a whopping 100lbs, better luck next year Doreen. Take a look through the photo gallery below...
