A huge congratulations to the team of six Year 10s from Falmouth School who successfully completed the 2016 Ten Tors Challenge, finishing in fourth place!
The Ten Tors Challenge requires each team to embark on a grueling 35 mile trek over the military ranges of Dartmoor. The team from Falmouth School, consisting of year ten students Theo Fleming, Rob Brown, Zack Amos, Austin Tyley, Isaac Hayes and Jago Hamersley, were required to be entirely self sufficient, meaning they carried food and tents for the duration of the 35 mile challenge. The Regatta Kivu 3 tent was their preferred choice, having withstood every type of weather in the training leading up to the event.
Hawkshead Falmouth have been supporting the team throughout their exciting challenge by providing expert kit advice and helping to create a solid training plan which they started back in September.
The Falmouth School team were cheered over the line at 12.39pm – completing the challenge in 29 hours and 39 minutes. This was an epic achievement by the students, the teachers and the support staff who have helped them along the way – a massive well done to everyone involved!
The team at Hawkshead Falmouth look forward to working with Falmouth School for the 2017 Ten Tors Challenge & DofE expeditions in years to come.
Thanks to Rick and Paul at Hawkshead Falmouth for the brilliant run down of events!
Congratulate them by sharing this post!
