Those of you following our amazing Ginetta Junior racing drivers will be pleased to hear about the successful weekend at Knockhill for our team R&J Motorsport.
Jonathan Hadfield started race 1 from 10th position on the grid and managed to fight his way through to finish in 5th, which put him in a strong position for race 2 on Sunday. Race 2 saw Hadfield battling with the top 5 drivers for the front positions, the hard battling left Jonathan in a respectable 4th position at the end of Sunday’s race.
Lewis Brown started race 1 at Knockhill in 5th position on the grid. After a hard fought race, Brown managed to fight his way into 3rd place and achieve his second podium of the season. The podium finish put Lewis is a strong position for race 2 starting 3rd on the grid. Race 2 was full of excitement and saw Brown get his best ever result, finishing in 2nd position after just being pipped to the top step by Proctor on the line.
Kyle Hornby had a challenge on his hands after an unfortunate off in qualifying, which left him in 17th position on the grid for race 1. After some strong racing, Hornby managed to fight his way through the pack to finish the race in a respectable 9th position, also finishing on the podium as 3rd top rookie. Race 2 saw Kyle maintain his 9th position and once again achieving the 3rd top rookie trophy.
Frank Bird qualified in 14th position for race 1, one of his best positions of this season. Race 1 saw Frank and a huge group of cars fighting nose to tail to get into the top ten. After all the hard racing, race 1 saw Bird finish in 13th position, his best finish of the season. Race 2 was full of lots of incidents and competitive racing, Frank managed to hold his own and finish in a respectable 17th position.
Next Ginetta Junior round is at Rockingham 5th-6th September!
